Chef, author, and TV personality, Anthony Bourdain released this New York Times bestselling book in 2000. For anyone who has worked in a restaurant kitchen, waited tables (something I did for WAY too long), or always been interested to know what goes on behind the scenes at your favourite restaurant, this is a MUST read.
Kitchen Confidential does EXACTLY what its sub-title suggests – gives readers insight into the “culinary underbelly” of the restaurant world. Witty and racy (what a great combo!), this is an expose on the dark side of the culinary world and a memoir of Bourdain’s, sometimes ‘colourful’ professional career.
If you recognize Bourdain from the cover, it may be from one of his many TV appearances, or from his scandalous, travel-food show No Reservations on the Food Network.
Give it a read and let me know what you think!
