The Hidden Garden of Westminster

The Garth                                  Westminster Abby, London

Though photos are prohibited within the famous abby — made more famous by the DaVinci Code film and the recent marriage of Will and Kate — I was able to snap a few shots once in the Cloisters (a covered walkway).

This is a shot of the Garth, a square of brilliant green turf, surrounded on all sides by the massive Gothic structure, that was installed to give monks somewhere to rest their minds and eyes. Green is the symbolic color of rebirth and so it is considered to be an appropriate colour to look at for 'spiritual refreshment'.
