It is easy to stop 'seeing' the city that you live in when you are stuck driving, riding your bike or walking around it on a regular basis. To shake up my perspective of my current home town (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), I took the elevator (ya, I was too lazy to take the stairs) up to the top level of a few different parkades in the central core.
What did I discover?
That there is a vast space up there that is relatively unused and would be great for a party, a picnic, or suntanning. People never look up when they are walking through the streets below. There are A LOT of reflective buildings in Edmonton's downtown. It is quiet, and the view is incredible.
