The streets of the Montmartre district of Paris are full of artists painting, performing and selling their wares. Wandering in the area one sunny afternoon, I came upon an artist painting a portrait of a young girl who was sitting patiently on a small wooden stool. It wasn't the artists work that drew me in however — it was his palette.
Caked in paint, it was a thick, textured and colorful record of all of his creations.
It was breathtaking.
